Levi Andrew

We named our son Levi Andrew, after two of Jesus’ disciples.  Levi, better known as Matthew, is a sinner and tax collector who responded to Jesus’ call to “Follow me” and brings a lot of his friends to hear Jesus.  Levi is also the third son of Jacob and the progenitor of the Levite tribe and priestly order of the nation of Israel.  Andrew, a fisherman and brother of Peter, follows Jesus immediately at his call.  He is also the disciple who brings the boy with the fish and bread to Jesus which Jesus used to feed 5,000.  (It was a delight to hear Pastor James preach on this story with a focus on Andrew the first time Levi came to church).  It has been our prayer that Levi would live up to his namesakes – to respond to Jesus’ call to follow him and bring others to witness the works of Christ.

Andrew is also my great-grandfather's name and there's a Levi on Martin's side a few generation ago so we wanted to have some family connection.

Levi goes with Dylan and Lydia because they all have Ls in their names and with Martin because they have same number of syllables in their first, middle, and last names and with my middle name (Leigh).
